Adventist Education for the 21st century (AE21) is an exciting and innovative education program. AE21 reaches students across the United States using a variety of communication technologies. Our programs bring Master Teachers and students together engaging them in exciting learning environments. AE21 was started in 1997 to meet the needs of students in Adventist schools across the United States. Initially, it addressed the needs of students in one-teacher schools in grades 5 though 8 (Program 58). Program 58 provides an integrated curriculum that weaves the study of Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Reading into units of study. These units engage students in learning activities that require them to apply skills and knowledge to real world situations Since 1997, AE21 has grown to include a complete accredited college preparatory high school curriculum. Freshmore is designed for Freshmen and Sophomores. Upperclass is a program for Juniors and Seniors. Students in these programs study Math, Science, Religion, History, English, and Technology in integrated units. There are also Language and Fine Arts electives. | Each program's curriculum is built around community service and requires students to be actively involved in the betterment of their local communities . All of AE21's programs are endorsed by the North American Division's Office of Education and hosted on the grounds of Forest Lake Academy by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. With teachers located in Orlando, FL, Avon Park, FL, and Nazareth, PA, Adventist Education for the 21st Century is at the leading edge of distributed education programs. Comments from students and teachers: "The AE21 program has helped me discipline myself. It has given all of us a chance to see what is going on in the world and get involved." Student 1997 "I continue to be impressed with the AE21 programs. the sense of community which they engender within my students, the ability of the format to deliver up-to-the-minute information, the transparency of the technology tools, and the the units of study, which are made relevant to the lives of students, all contribute to an adventure in learning."
