Mission Statement

The mission of the UCCP Initiative is to provide online college preparatory courses to high school students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to become eligible or competitively eligible for admission to the University of California.

UCCP broadens the equity of access to UC admission.

UCCP was initiated in the Fall of 1998 and funded on November 30, 1998 by UC President, Richard Atkinson. The pilot implementation started on January 4, 1999. The project goal during the initial pilot phase is to develop, test, and implement prototype(s) that will support the UCCP mission.
